What constitutes an item as vintage?

Any piece that was made 20 years ago to date, is considered vintage. Antique jewelry, on the other hand, is considered any item that dates back more than 100 years. 

At times, we use the "vintage" term to describe the style in which the piece was made. However, there is nothing in our store that is labeled "vintage" without being at least 11 years of age. 

Does vintage jewelry appreciate over time?

A vintage piece that is in mint condition will almost always appreciate in value over time. The market for vintage jewelry has maintained a strong demand over the past 5 years. Recent market prices for vintage diamond and gemstone jewelry have skyrocketed in the past year (as of 03/02/22). 

Regardless of appreciation, you can always count on Assay's vintage jewelry to maintain its value over time. This is, of course, if you keep the item in good condition.
